Frequently Asked Questions

Here are answers to some of the most common things clients ask us before getting started.

What does an interior designer do?

An interior designer is a trained professional who transforms spaces by combining functionality, aesthetics, and personal style. Designers bring expertise in space planning, materials, furnishings, and lighting to create cohesive, well-balanced interiors.

What’s the difference between an interior designer and an interior decorator?

An interior decorator focuses on styling and accessorizing a space with furniture, décor, and color schemes.

An interior designer, however, has formal training in design principles, space planning, construction codes, and public safety regulations (including ADA compliance). Designers can create construction documents, oversee remodeling projects, and manage renovations from concept to completion.

Do interior designers provide furniture?

Yes! Interior designers help clients select, source and customize furniture that fits their space, style, and budget. We have access to exclusive vendor resources and offer custom design solutions, delivery coordination, and installation services.

Do you offer virtual interior design services?

Yes! We provide 3D renderings, concept boards, and video consultations to help you visualize your space from anywhere. Virtual design services are an additional charge but can be incredibly helpful in the planning process.

What is your interior design process from start to finish?

We begin with a consultation to understand your style, goals, and budget. If it’s a good fit, we define the project scope, sign a contract, and begin the design discovery phase. This includes sourcing materials, selecting furnishings, and gathering bids.

Once selections are approved, we handle ordering, deliveries, and oversee installation. Clients cover shipping, delivery, and installation costs, while we manage every detail to ensure a smooth, stress-free transformation.

Can I be involved in the design process?

Absolutely! We believe in a collaborative approach because your space should reflect your personality and needs. We guide the process while ensuring your input shapes the final design.

How much does an interior designer cost?

We charge an hourly rate plus a markup on furnishings, materials and labor. The total cost depends on the scope, complexity, and materials selected for your project. To receive a custom quote, contact us.

Is hiring an interior designer worth it?

Yes! Interior design is an investment in your home or business. Beyond aesthetics, designers ensure proper scale, balance, flow and functionality, helping you get the most out of your space without the stress of DIY mistakes.

How long does an interior design project take?

Timelines depend on the scope—quick refreshes take weeks, full-home designs a few months, and custom builds or renovations six months or more. Every project is unique, but good design takes time, and waiting for the right pieces is always worth it.

When should I hire an interior designer?

Ideally, as soon as you have a budget and general project scope. Whether you need help choosing paint colors or managing a full-scale renovation, we tailor our services to your needs.

Do you offer styling services for photoshoots or home staging?

Yes! We assist with move-in styling, set design, and home staging to create picture-perfect spaces.

Why Start with a Design Discovery Meeting

  • Understand what’s realistic for your timeline, investment, and goals. We’ll talk you through options and give you honest feedback about what’s possible — and where to begin.

  • At the end of the meeting, you’ll know whether to move forward with full-service design or continue independently with recommendations. Either way, you'll walk away informed and empowered.
